Ambulance Games

 Ambulance Games

A fresh call has been made for a county-only ambulance service after plans to close stations across Lincolnshire were revealed.County councillor Christine Talbot has written to the Government reiterating the authority's call for a new Lincolnshire-only service. It comes after East Midlands Ambulance Service made the controversial decision to close 13 stations in Lincolnshire. It will leave just five.Health scrutiny committee chairman Mrs Talbot has written the letter to Health Secretary, Andrew Lansley, outlining a case to ditch the "failing" East Midlands Ambulance Service and instead acquire its own county-specific provider.EMAS response times are the worst in the country and police attending emergencies are ferrying injured people to hospitals themselves because ambulances do not turn up in time.Mrs Talbot said: "There comes a time when people just say 'enough is enough' and that time with EMAS is now."I have written the letter to the secretary of state and hopefully he agrees with the case we have put forward.
