Ambulances

Ambulances

An ambulance is a vehicle for transportation of sick or injured people to, from or between places of treatment for an illness or injury, and in some instances will also provide out of hospital medical care to the patient. The word is often associated with road going emergency ambulances which form part of an emergency medical service, administering emergency care to those with acute medical problems.
The term ambulance does, however, extend to a wider range of vehicles other than those with flashing warning lights and sirens. The term also includes a large number of non-urgent ambulances which are for transport of patients without an urgent acute condition (see functional types, below) and a wide range of urgent and non-urgent vehicles including trucks, vans, bicycles, motorbikes, station wagons, buses, helicopters, fixed-wing aircraft, boats, and even hospital ships (see vehicle types, also below). The term ambulance comes from the Latin word ambulare, meaning to walk or move about which is a reference to early medical care where patients were moved by lifting or wheeling.

Long Valley Brew Pub

Long Valley Brew Pub

Our brewing system was manufactured in California by Pub Brewing Company. It is a seven-barrel brewing system. There are two half kegs in a barrel (31 gallons) which means that each batch brewed on our system yields fourteen half kegs (217 gallons). We are currently producing roughly 800 barrels per year.
Our Brewers Our Head Brewer is Joe Saia. Joe began working under Tim Yarrington (our former Brewmaster) in early 1996. He was a home brewer and brings a lot of practical, mechanical experience to the brewery from his previous jobs. He is responsible for the development of all brews served in this restaurant. Joe brews mostly during the week and begins his days early. Brewing at night when the restaurant is busy is not a practical consideration. For a tour of the brewery call Joe at the brewery weekdays to make arrangements. Light, Amber, American Pale Ale and Porter All of our four standard beers -- Light, Golden, Amber, and Porter -- are maintained and defined by Joe. Our beers are all ales. Due to the small number of fermenters, we are limited to producing only ales due to the short fermentation and maturation times.

Ems Training

Ems Training

Training with the Body Transformer is an innovative, special type of electro stimulation training. It is a highly effective full-body training with which all groups of muscles (agonists) and their adversaries (antagonists) work at the same time, i.e. actually simultaneously. It can therefore not be compared with other types of electro stimulation. EMS Training is an extremely time-economic type of training, because in only about 20 minutes training time the entire musculature is trained extremely effective at the same time.
Plus and minus electrodes are not fixed to the same muscle. Up to eight pairs of electrodes that are integrated into a belt system are fixed to the moistened clothing. Agonist and antagonist, as well as all groups of muscles which lie between the electrodes (100 % of the horizontally striped musculature is covered) are trained at the same time. That way, a full body training takes place. Due to high efficiency and mass stimulation of many muscle areas at the same time, this results in an enormous time saving with excellent results in contrast to conventional training methods.

Wilderness Emt

Wilderness Emt

The phrase wilderness EMT is actually a bit misleading in most cases. There are several providers who offer certification as a wilderness first responder, or WFR. These courses are generally 60 to 80 hours in length and are intended to provide civilian responders with critical BLS and patient stabilization skills that can be utilized in remote situations in which emergency response units may not be available or in outdoor environments which offer challenging and uncertain hazards. These courses are intended to prepare the non-professional responder with the ability to stabilize a patient until they can receive more advanced emergency medical care.In recent years, some of these providers have developed unique hybrid programs which actually offer a fully accredited EMT training curriculum and concurrently provide candidates with the unique skills which are honed through attending a wilderness medicine course. Upon completion of one of these hybrid WEMT courses, the candidate will be able to apply for both NREMT or similar state certification as an EMT-Basic and also for certification as a wilderness emergency medical responder.
