It is a subsidiary of Mitsubishi Chemical Holdings Corporation of Japan and is based in Charlotte, North Carolina.The company was founded in 1969 and it has been a subsidiary of Mitsubishi Chemicals since 1990.Key dates 1969: Information Terminals Corporation, the predecessor to Verbatim, is created.
1978: ITC is officially renamed Verbatim.[1]
1979: Verbatim goes public; sales grow to $36 million.
1985: Eastman Kodak announces its $174 million bid for Verbatim.
1990: Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation acquires Verbatim.
1992: The company buys Carlisle Memory Products.
2005: Shareholder Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation merges with Mitsubishi Pharma Corporation to form Mitsubishi Chemical Holdings Corporation.
