Zingermans

Zingermans

Zingerman's started out as a modest deli in 1982. Since then the enterprise has expanded to include a bakery, catering business, coffee wholesaler, creamery, roadhouse restaurant, training business for bakers, and a consultancy for other specialty food ventures. The company brings these diverse businesses together under one brand that has always been associated with local food from the Ann Arbor area. The business, profitable and growing, has prospered by remaining rooted in its hometown and expanding to different products and services, rather than trying to replicate past successes in new locations.
Zingerman's Delicatessen is fast becoming America's best-known deli. Opened in March of 1982 by Paul Saginaw and Ari Weinzweig in an historic building near the Ann Arbor Farmers' Market, the Deli got its start with a small selection of great-tasting specialty foods, a host of traditional Jewish dishes and a relatively short sandwich menu.Today, Zingerman's Delicatessen is an Ann Arbor institution, the source of great food and great experiences for thousands of visitors every year. The Deli serves up thousands of made-to-order sandwiches with ingredients like premium Black Angus corned beef and pastrami, free-range chicken and turkey, housemade chopped liver and chicken salad.
